Yapply for group leaders
A private group chat for the young people you look after — and an answer when a parent asks what their kid is doing on it.
The problem it solves
Most groups run on a group text, a Facebook group, or Discord. All three work fine right up until a parent asks what their child is doing in there, and you have no answer. Discord in particular is a hard conversation: there is no way to show a parent anything, and no way to stop an adult messaging a young person privately.
Yapply is the same kind of group chat, built so you can answer that question.
What you get
- A private space for your group — channels for announcements, chat and voice. Nobody finds it who wasn’t invited.
- Adults can’t cold-message minors. This is enforced by the server, not a setting anyone can switch off.
- Moderation on every message, text and images, plus link scanning, reporting, blocking, and a record of what was actioned.
- An event calendar with RSVP, so you know who is planning to come.
- Attendance registers. Tick names in the web app after a session, and Yapply shows you who has quietly stopped coming — usually the thing you most want to catch and least often notice.
- Weekly summaries for parents who want them, covering activity and any safety flags — never the contents of messages.
- Under-13s are handled properly. A young child can’t sign themselves up; a parent sets the account up and consents first.
What it takes from you
Setting up a group takes about ten minutes. Getting your young people in takes about thirty seconds each: you share one link, they open it in their browser and they are in. No app store, no install, nothing to download — which matters when you are trying to move twenty teenagers at once and half of them have no storage free.
They can install the app later if they want it. Most do, eventually.
What it costs
Nothing. Yapply is free while it is in beta — no card, no trial clock, no limits on your group. Paid plans for organisations will come later, for leader tools beyond what a single group needs. Nothing that keeps a young person safe will ever sit behind a payment, and there is no advertising in Yapply on any plan.

Send them this page. It explains what Yapply is, what the weekly summary shows, what it deliberately does not show, and how to get their child removed. You should not have to defend software you did not build — that is our job, so hand them the link.
Being honest about where we are
Yapply is early. It is built and it works, but only a handful of groups are using it, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. What that means in practice: you will get a lot of attention, we will set it up with you, and if something is missing there is a decent chance it gets built.
It also means you should try it with one group before you bet anything important on it.
